BBC radio requests across tablet devices via the company’s iPlayer platform have increased 300% per month, year-on-year.
The figure comes as the Beeb launches its iPlayer Radio platform today, which allows users to listen to BBC radio stations on the move via a smartphone app as well as catching up with on-demand content, clips, videos and downloads.
Auntie says that radio listening across mobile and tablet devices has risen significantly over the past 12 months, "reflecting growing audience demand for access to content anywhere."
Year-on-year, monthly iPlayer requests for radio have increased 56% to 2.8m on mobiles, and 300% to 1.2m on tablets.
