BBC to increase arts coverage funding by 20%

The BBC director general will announce a 20% increase in funding for arts coverage later today.

The boost in funds will mean plays, art exhibitions and live music will have a greater presence on the BBC.

That’s according to the BBC itself, with DG Tony Hall saying that he wants to return the arts to the corporation’s “heart”.
