Beats Electronics has appointed former Ikea group strategic development head Matthew Costello to the role of chief operating officer.

Reporting to Beats president Luke Wood, Costello will oversee global operations for the company and build a strategy to grow its market share and drive international expansion.

Wood himself has been added to the Beats Board of Directors.
