Ben Howard looks like being the biggest retail winner of this year's Brit Awards with sales of his album tripling overnight following his performance and double victory.

Demand for Howard's Island album Every Kingdom rose 320% in the UK between the end of trading on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the Official Charts Company, to send it up to 9 in the midweek chart. It stood at 46 on last Sunday's artist albums countdown.
