The Bicycle Music Company has partnered with Rolf Budde Musikverlag GmbH to acquire the catalogue owned by Budde’s late brother, Andy Budde – Budde Songs and Budde Music USA.
Budde Musikverlag will administer the catalogue in the GSA territories plus France and Bicycle will be the administrator in the U.S. all other territories. The catalogue contains evergreens such as Always on My Mind, The Letter, Pata Pata and Sugar Baby Love.
Always on My Mind was originally recorded in 1972 and has spawned more than 300 recorded releases by such stars as Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, The Pet Shop Boys, Michael Buble, Shakira and Ryan Adams.
The Letter was a #1 hit by the Box Tops in 1967. In 1970 the song re-entered the top of the charts with Joe Cocker’s recording of the song which was arranged by Leon Russell. The song is ranked #363 by Rolling Stone magazine on its 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. With over 200 recordings, the song has been cut by the Beach Boys, Al Green, Peter Tosh, and Dionne Warwick to name a few.

Bicycle has acquired rights to catalogues such as Marvin Hamlisch, Glen Ballard, Foghat, Nine Inch Nails, Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship, Tammy Wynette, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Arlo Guthrie, Survivor, Cyndi Lauper, .38 Special, Third Eye Blind, Night Ranger, Montell Jordan, The Fixx, The Cramps, Wes Farrell, Ernie Maresca, Crazy Town, Wall Of Voodoo and Sublime.
Family owned Budde Music has been an independent music publisher for over 60 years. The company has offices in London, Paris, New York and Berlin.
