Blur: The App will be available to download for free via iTunes from today (July 23).
Launching with iPad tablet and iOS mobile editions, Blur: The App is called by its creators "the most comprehensive artist app of its kind". It arrives one week before career retrospective Blur 21: The Box from Parlophone.
Blur: The App features rare and previously unreleased audio material, demos and remixes, as well as exclusive video content, archival EPK and interview footage, live clips and performances.
Fans will be able to share content from the app via Facebook and Twitter and the app will also pull in news feeds from blur.co.uk, facebook.com/blur and twitter.com/blurofficial.
Other features include an immersive interactive timeline, marking Blur's 21 year career to date; a comprehensive videography covering all 27 of the band's music videos; a discography which includes tracklists from early promos, cassettes and alternative CD versions; photo galleries and biographies; as well as an expansive gigography with setlists powered by setlist.fm.
Blur 21: The Box will be released on 30th July 2012. It contains over 5 ½ hours of previously unreleased material including 65 tracks, rarities, 3 DVDs, a collector's edition book and special limited edition Seymour 7 inch vinyl.
