Boris Johnson has pledged to boost music education at schools in London.
Johnson says that he will assemble a team of professional musicians and teachers to advise schools on how best to teach music.
A new award will also be introduced to recognise schools that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to music.
Johnson said: “London needs creative people and music is one of our most successful exports. The creative industries generate £21 billion for London’s economy each year.
