Grammy-winning group Boyz II Men have signed an exclusive worldwide publishing and masters deal with BMG Chrysalis US.
Boyz II Men are one of the most successful R&B group of all time, having sold over 60 million albums and generating three of the longest-running No.1 pop singles in history during their 20-year career.
The band has signed with BMG's master division for a multiple album deal. BMG's Master Model has provides artists with a modern alternative to the traditional record deal. The partnership-based model allows artists to benefit through full creative control of the recording process and an enhanced revenue split. Anastacia signed up to a similar deal last year.
Venus Brown from BMG Chrysalis North America explained: "As proof in their more than 100 performances per year, the music and relevance of Boyz II Men continues to stand the test of time. BMG is very excited to be a part of creating another classic Boyz II Men record to add to their legacy of popular R&B hits."
Zach Katz, EVP of Creative, North America at BMG Chrysalis US, commented: "Boyz II Men are recognized as one of the most iconic R&B groups and have defined a genre of music. This partnership allows BMG to further pave its way as a leader in what has become the new music business, where publishing and records thrive as one.
The group formed in 1990 and are known for their heartfelt ballads and blended harmonies.
In January 2012 they were honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they recently concluded a worldwide tour in support of their most recent album Twenty (which debuted at No.1 on the iTunes R&B Soul Album chart) and in March they will begin their headline residency at The Mirage in Las Vegas, performing weekend shows throughout the end of the year.
For 2013, Boyz II Men will join multi-platinum selling artists New Kids on the Block and 98 Degrees on tour this summer. The Package Tour will kick off May 31.
