Breakout January line-up announced, King Charles wows December audience

Artists performing at the show, which will take place on Wednesday, January 11, will include Norwegian Grammy-winner Karin Park and Kerrang! Favourites Sonic Boom Six.

Meanwhile, over 700 industry execs and music fans turned out for this month's Breakout on Wednesday night, witnessing performances from the likes of King Charles (pictured), Firefox AK and The Dodoz.

January's Breakout will include turns from:



Norwegian Grammy-winning artist whose music has taken a darker, edgier turn and is getting support from the likes of Annie Mac, MTV and Dance Nation. She plays live with her brother David and has collaborated with producer Christoffer Berg. She's currently out on tour with Crystal Fighters


Tipped as a band for 2012 by Rocksound, Big Cheese & Kerrang!, this heavy rocking mob are attracting serious label intrest. Current track release Kids of the Multiculture was voted Single Of The Week in Kerrang! and Record of the Day's pick on November 29. The band, managed by Ian Rendall at Trashed, have just completed a sold-out UK tour - including a 5-Star live review from Kerrang!


Signed to producer Danton Supple's record label Definition Arts, Franc Cinelli has been described by Music Week as "a breath of fresh air". His debut single The Fortune Teller Song has received Radio 2 play in advance of its release in January - and a session for Janice Long will be broadcast online in the same month.


A three-piece from Launceston, Cornwall, this hot UK band just returned from touring with Hard Fi and are managed by Julian Able at Jam X. They are currently in the studio with Pete Miles (King Blues, Crazy Arm) and are set to release a new single in February. Keyboard-led, they have been described by indie guru Tom Robinson as: "Astonishing - real grit and power, more power than most guitar bands!" The band were the 'most shared' artist on the BBC Glastonbury website home page earlier this year for a good 36 hours - beating off competition from Ed Sheeran and Wu Tang Clan



Managed by Robert Rosenberg from Trinifold (The Who), UK-born and US-based Freeman's track Earthquakes - featured on The Ghost Whisperer - is the only unsigned artist in the Billboard Chartthis year, with 35,000 downloads sold.


Peter & Kerry is a collaboration between solo artists Kerry Leatham and Peter Lyons. Their debut EP, originally recorded as an informal experiment, was quickly celebrated across blogs and radio. Championed by the likes of Tom Ravenscroft at 6Music, the duo have since played shows with Lucy Rose, Hannah Peel and Monument Valley and more recently opened for BBC 'Sound of' act and Breakout star Lianne LaHavas on her first UK mini-tour. They are currently recording their debut album for release in 2012.


Young singer/songwriter from Devon, who has been recently championed by her local BBC Introducing show and by Rob Da Bank. She has worked extensively with Andy Chatterley (Kylie Minogue, Nerina Pallot) and is attracting strong publishing interest.
