The CD benefitted from a handful of big releases in the second quarter of the year, seeing its decline slow dramatically compared to Q1 2014.
According to Official Charts Company figures, CD albums were down 18.2% year-on-year in Q1 2014 but the format’s Q2 sales represented a YoY dip of just 3%.
Meanwhile, digital albums were down 12% YoY in Q2 2014 on sales of 6,917,136.
