Rock ’n’ roll guitarist Chuck Berry and opera director Peter Sellars have been honoured with Sweden’s Polar Music Prize in Stockholm.
The award, presented annually, is worth one million Swedish Kronor (£87,000) and was founded and funded by Stig Andersson, ABBA’s manager.
Since it was first presented in 1992, it has gone to musicians such as Paul McCartney, B.B. King, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
