Country singer George Jones has died aged 81.
Jones died earlier today at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after being hospitalised with fever and irregular blood pressure.
The singer scored No.1 singles across five decades from the 1950s to the 1990s including White Lighting, She Thinks I Still Care and He Stopped Loving Her Today.
He is considered one of the country genres with an instantly recognisable and widely imitated vocal style.
