Creative industries worth £71.4bn to UK economy - DCMS report

The creative industries are now worth £71.4 billion to the UK economy every year - generating over £8 million an hour.

Meanwhile, jobs in the creative industries grew 8.6% across 2011 and 2012, compared to the rest of the UK economy where the increase was just 0.7%.

New figures from the Department for Media, Culture and Sport, which show the creative industries as the UK’s fastest-growing sector, accounting for 5.6% of the workforce.
