Government pledges extra £18m for music education

The Government has pledged an extra £18m for music education programmes in 2015-16 and agreed to continue funding the network of music education hubs across the UK by £75m in total.

A collection of organisations working in a local areas make up the hubs. They ensure that every child aged 5-18 has the opportunity to sing and learn a musical instrument, and to perform as part of an ensemble or choir.
