DHP Family has appointed music promoter Bonita McKinney from the Academy Music Group (AMG).
McKinney will report to director of promotions Anton Lockwood, and is tasked with programming two of DHP's live music venues; Rescue Rooms in Nottingham and Thekla in Bristol, as well as working on its longest-standing metropolitan music festival Dot to Dot. In addition, she’ll be developing her own portfolio of nationally promoted artists.
Previously an in-house promoter for the AMG venue estate and a co-promoter for its Jagermeister music tour for three years, McKinney will take up her new role based at DHP Family's Nottingham head office.
She said: "I'm very excited to be joining the DHP Family. I have always admired the company. I love their ethos and approach to live business and their creative approach is inspiring. There are so many branches to DHP, from venues to festivals, management to national promoting, and I can't wait to get involved with it all."
DHP Family operates several live music venues including Rock City alongside the Bodega, Rescue Rooms and Stealth in Nottingham and the Thekla in Bristol. It also works with Manchester Cathedral to deliver its live music programmes.
The promoter also organises the music festivals Splendour, Dot to Dot, Gathering, Everywhere and Hit The Deck.
