Digital music sales down in Japan but smartphone-related sales are growing

Figures released by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), show that despite digital music sales falling overall, there has been significant uplift in smartphone-related music sales.

McClure Music reports the figures, showing that overall digital music sales fell in the first quarter of 2013 by 25% in terms of units and 30% year-on-year in value - equating to 10.9billion yen (£73.4billion).
