Downtown Music Publishing is opening its first office in Nashville and has appointed Steven Markland to establish the business there.
Markland will take on responsibility as vice president of A&R and sign and develop emerging and established songwriters, acquire catalogues and work closely with Downtown's creative teams in New York and Los Angeles to create new opportunities for the company's writer roster. He will report to company founder/president Justin Kalifowitz and Downtown's chief operating officer, Andrew Bergman.
