Xfm's Winter Wonderland will return in December at the O2 Apollo Manchester on Tuesday December 4 and London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Monday December 17.
Sponsored by Ubisoft video game Rocksmith, the duo of nights will boast performances from the likes of Bloc Party, The Courteeners and Editors.
Now back for its ninth consecutive year and once again in support of War Child, the party starts at O2 Apollo Manchester with live performances from Bloc Party, Maximo Park, Everything Everything, Delphic, Spector and Findlay. Manchester’s Breakfast Show presenter Tim Cocker and afternoon presenter Clint Boon will be on hosting duties for the night.
Hosted by London’s Breakfast Show presenter Danny Wallace, the second night moves to O2 Academy Brixton where Editors, The Courteeners, The Temper Trap, and rapidly rising music stars Lucy Rose and Theme Park will play. In addition, the night includes the presentation of the Xfm Inspiration Award to a very special guest.
Chris Baughen, Xfm’s Managing Editor said: “Xfm’s Winter Wonderland is one of the most anticipated events in the calendar for our listeners and we’re proud to continue to bring them amazing shows with stellar line-ups – making the shows bigger and better each time. We’re sure that all of you will love what we have in-store this year.”
Tom Smith from Editors said: “It is our pleasure to be part of Xfm's Christmas do this year. To help this wonderful station celebrate will be a lot of fun. The night is made all the more worthwhile for us by being in aid of War Child, a longstanding charity which continues to do amazing work and has continued to work hand in hand with bands and musicians we love. The original Help Album sits proudly on my shelf still.”
Winter Wonderland will be held from 6:30pm in Manchester and London. Tickets are on sale now.
