Tony Hadley begins in a weekly 7pm Saturday night slot on July 21 presenting 80s Party, while Nik Kershaw has been lined up to guest present an 8 to 9pm Sunday show throughout July. He will play some tracks that have influenced him as well as talk about his Live Aid appearance, embarrassing himself in front of Mark Knopfler and meeting Madonna.
Hadley said: "It's really exciting to be back on the radio with Tony Hadley's 80s Party especially as I'm already a big fan of Absolute 80s. Expect some revealing stories, some fun and some great music."
Meanwhile, T'Pau singer Carol Decker will front the 80s Rewind Preview show on Friday, August 17 from 7 to 11pm as she looks ahead to the Rewind festival in Henley-on-Thames taking place from August 17 to 19. Tracks from some of the acts appearing, including The Bangles, OMD and Rick Astley, will feature in the programme.
Absolute Radio's Content Director Tony Moorey said: "Three big shows with three 80's stars loved by our listeners. It's great to be expanding Absolute 80s' schedule with talent that contributed some of the biggest hits of the decade."
