Ellie Goulding’s second album Halcyon will be released on October 8 on Polydor Records, preceded by lead single Anything Could Happen on September 30.
The new tracks were written and co-produced by Goulding and the majority were recorded in a converted barn in the singers hometown in the Hay Valley with producer Jim Elliot (Kylie/Ladyhawke).
The Hereford-born singer songwriter first came to prominence when she topped the BBC Sound of 2010 Poll and was simultaneously awarded the Brits Critics Choice Award – becoming the only artist other than Adele to have received both accolades.
Halcyon is the follow-up to Goulding’s 2010 No.1 debut album Lights which reached triple platinum status in the UK with sales of over 850,000 to date.
Fans got a taste of the new album earlier this month when a free download of new track Hanging On featuring Tinie Tempah was posted on Soundcloud.
The track was the number one most blogged and played song on Hypemachine that week and has had over one million total plays/views.
