Elton and Bernie to receive Johnny Mercer Award
Elton John and Bernie Taupin are to be honoured with the Johnny Mercer Award at this year's Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala Event in New York City.
The pair will join the likes Downtown composer Tony Hatch, Foreigner's Mick Jones and Lou Gramm and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry in being recognised at the gathering, which takes place at the city's Marriott Marquis Hotel on Thursday, June 13.
