EMI Music invests in French music company PlayOn

Founded in 2006 by Sebastien Duclos and Julien Godin, PlayOn covers all music genres and all segments of the music industry including production, publishing, management and live events as well as DVD rights, TV rights and content production.

The company has had several successful local projects over the past five years including work with French singer Zaz - who has sold more than 1.5 million albums worldwide and reached number 1 in five territories - Colonel Reyel, Elisa Tovati and the recently released Gerard Lenorman duets album.

PlayOn has also licensed the French rights to a number of successful international artists including Milow, Justin Nozuka, Edward Maya and Alexandra Stan.

"With this partnership, PlayOn will be able to speed up its international development and more generally synergize its diverse activities with EMI Music, working in close cooperation with EMI Music Publishing," said Duclos and Godin.

"With many success stories behind it, PlayOn has become in a short space of time, a leading actor in France's independent production sector," commented chairman of EMI Music France Olivier Montfort.

"PlayOn has also broken into the international market thanks to the worldwide development of the artist Zaz. The partnership with EMI will strengthen PlayOn's development in France as well as abroad."
