Veteran EMI Music executive David Kassler is to serve as head of the newly-named Parlophone Label Group.
That's according to the Hits Daily Double which puts the exec in the frame for the legendary label's lead role for the time being.
According to the dictates of the European Commission, the appointment was stated as a stipulation for green-lighting the Universal/EMI merger.
Kassler will take over the role of hold separate manager, leading the label group until it is acquired by a new buyer.
He was previously EMI CEO for Europe and the world outside North and South America as well as president of EMI Europe, including the UK and Irish companies.
