Recently released EMI boss Roger Faxon has denied being approached by Warner to fill Lyor Cohen’s soon-to-be-vacant hot seat – and Cohen isn’t going to UMG/EMI or Sony.
That’s according to a report from Hits Daily Double, which cites insiders who say that Faxon himself is dismissing rumours about a Warner approach while sources at both Sony and UMG have said that Lyor Cohen isn’t making the jump to either.
It was announced yesterday that Warner Music Group recorded music Chairman and CEO, Lyor Cohen, will resign from the company on September 30.
Roger Faxon will leave his role as EMI CEO on September 28 - the same date Universal takes over much of the acquired company's operation.
