French courts could force Google to censor piracy search results

Google could receive a French court order requiring the company to censor piracy results flagged up in its autocomplete search function.

French collection society SNEP has been campaigning to stop Google associating music searches with piracy terms such as ‘torrent’ or filesharing websites in its predictive search function.
