Gangnam Style forces YouTube to upgrade counter

Psy’s hit single Gangnam Style has racked up so many views that YouTube has had to change the way it shows view counts.

The K-pop song was first uploaded in 2012, and has since garnered more than two billion views with its famous dance routine.

The upgrade sees YouTube’s counter switch from a 32-bit integer to a 64-bit one.
