Google buys Songza - confirmed

Google has bought playlist site Songza to enhance its Google Play Music All Access subscription service.

Rumours of the deal first surfaced last month and sources say the deal was higher than a New York Post report that tipped it to be worth around $15 million.

Launched in 2010, Songza is a streaming site that only plays playlists curated by around 50 'experts' and based on variables such as mood, location and weather.
