Google Play has jumped ahead of Apple in the amount of app downloads for the first time, according to end Q2 2013 results.

Gigaom reports App Annie analysis that has found Google Play is 10% ahead of the Apple iOS App Store in relation to app downloads but it is bettered by Apple in terms of comprative revenue figures - Apple being ahead by 2.3 times more than Google Play.
