Grooveshark to launch digital radio app

Grooveshark will launch a radio service application in January in an attempt to legitimise the services offered by the company.

The streaming music site calls it its "first compliant app". For 99C a month users will have access to free 'broadcasts.'

Because it's a radio service, which 'broadcasts' music rather than streaming it, Grooveshark pays SoundExchange licences and therefore will not need to negotiate separate licences with each record label.
