Guy Hands: 'Terra Firma's EMI strategy worked'

Terra Firma boss Guy Hands has admitted a big misstep during his company’s reign over EMI, but maintains that the strategy put in place for the record label was actually very good.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Hands points out that EMI’s market share made an “extraordinary” leap of 8% during Terra Firma’s ownership.

“The strategy worked,” Hands said, “What we got completely wrong was our ability to predict what would happen in the financial markets.”
