Gypsy Queens jump up Amazon pre-order chart after TV show

London Records signings The Gypsy Queens have today hopped into the top spot of Amazon's 'Hot New Releases' list after their first ever performance on UK TV.

The band appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning. Their performance appears to have been enough to put them ahead of The Vaccines, Mark Knopfler and Muse on Amazon's latest chart, which the retailer updates hourly.

The Gypsy Queens made their name busking in Europe before being signed by Nick Raphael and Jo Charrington at Universal's London last year.

They recorded their eponymous debut album with ex-Joni Mitchell producer Larry Klein in Los Angeles in April.

"We are very excited by the Gypsy Queens and the reaction to BBC Breakfast has been incredible," London Records president Raphael told Music Week.

The Gypsy Queens album is due for release in early November.
