Heart listeners to jump by 2m after Real Radio replacement

Global will relaunch Real Radio stations across North England, Scotland and South Wales under its Heart brand at the beginning of next month.

The commercial radio brand will see its listener base jump from 7.3 million to 9.3 million as a result of the switch in Scotland, South Wales, and the North West, North East and Yorkshire on May 6.

The move comes after Global’s acquisition of Real and Smooth Limited for £70 million in June 2012.
