According to Sky News, US-based AEG Live could only be interested in MAMA's live venues business, with HMV considering keeping hold of its other live assets for the time being including festivals; Lovebox, High Voltage, The Great Escape, Global Gathering and Escape Into The Park.

Reports that AEG has been granted preferred bidder status for MAMA Group emerged yesterday. The company is controlled by Philip Anschutz and bought the Millennium Dome in 2005.
