HMV’s flagship technology store in Islington, London is to close at the end of this month.

The store’s last day of trading will be January 25, according to Retail Week.

After falling into administration early last year, the retail chain’s new owners Hilco have spent the past 12 months attempting to return it to profitability.

As well as a trimming down of stores, focus has moved back to selling music, films and games - rather than high-end technology.
