The new site was built by 7digital, in which HMV owns a 50% stake.
It will feature "an intuitive customer experience", according to the company's head of online Sarah Hughes, including a download manager that automatically synchs downloads with iTunes and Windows Media Player.
Hughes made the announcement at yesterday's HMV Suppliers Conference, at the HMV Forum in North London. The company used the occasion to update suppliers on its plans for the coming year.
