IFPI awards X&Y for 2m European sales
Friday, Jul 8th 2005 at 3:18PMColdplay's X&Y (Parlophone) has gone double platinum across Europe after selling two million copies since its release on June 6 and today receives an IFPI award in recognition of this feat.
Other IFPI Platinum awards to be awarded for the month of June include 50 Cent's The Massacre, which has sold 1m copies in Europe. It is the second time the rapper has received an IFPI award, having picked up one for last album Get Rich Or Die Tryin'.
