Performance rights was the fastest growing music sector in 2012 according to the IFPI’s Recording Industry in Numbers 2013 report.
The sector’s revenues (from broadcasts and public performance) accounted for 6% of recorded music revenues worldwide, growing 9.4% and topping $943 million.
The report also reiterated the global recorded music industry’s “road to recovery”, first highlighted in the IFPI’s Digital Music Report 2013 earlier this year.
