'Ill-informed and out of touch': BPI slams Arts Council's 'no risk' A&R accusation

The BPI has shot down comments from the chief of Arts Council England suggesting that UK major labels are failing to take A&R risks due to short-termist thinking.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme this morning, Arts Council CEO Alan Davey suggested that young leftfield pop artists were being ignored by Universal, Sony and Warner Music - which is why his Government and Lottery-funded organisation had stepped in with its £500,000 Momentum Fund.
