Illegal file-sharer owes RIAA $222,000 for Kazaa activity

A US woman has been ordered to pay $222,000 in an illegal music downloading and file-sharing case dating back to 2006.

Minnesota resident Jammie Thomas-Rasset was originally brought to court on a lawsuit regarding the illegal sharing of 24 songs some seven years ago by the RIAA. There was evidence shown that she shared some 1,700 songs through file-sharing service Kazaa.
