Island Records signs Model Aeroplanes
Island Records has signed Scottish rock quartet Model Aeroplanes.
Hailing from Dundee, Model Aeroplanes are the first UK act to have signed a record deal after using unsigned distribution service Spinnup, which led to them working with Spinnup scout Yvonne McLellan.
Spinnup launched in 2013 in Sweden, where nine artists so far have been signed by parent company Universal Music. Island Records is Spinnup’s label partner in the UK.
