iTunes has snatched a one-week download exclusive on Taylor Swift’s Red album in the US, according to reports.
Following confirmation that Taylor Swift’s Red album will not be found on streaming services for a period after launch, the LP is also absent from Google Play and Amazon MP3. Although yesterday it was found on Scandinavian streaming service WiMP.
Billboard has had confirmation that iTunes has a one-week exclusive on digital sales of the album, while Google has also said that it will have the album next week.
Speculation points to iTunes rigid pricing structure for albums and singles, whereas both Google and Amazon have been known to price LPs as loss leaders in the past.
