iTunes named 'Invention of the Year'

Apple ceo Steve Jobs told staff of the award in San Francisco on Monday, where congratulatory video messages came in from Bono, Mick Jagger and Dr Dre.

The victory rewarded Apple's creation of the iTunes concept, which launched in spring this year offering 99c downloads, the ability to burn tracks to CD, create a jukebox, and ultimately transfer music to iPod.

Compeittion came from Dean Kamen's water purifier and the technology which allows mobile phones to double up as cameras. ...
