Japan recorded music income dips to new low

Japan's annual recorded music income dropped by around 4.5% last year, according to preliminary figures released by RIAJ.

The country's total recorded music revenue stands at around 297.5 billion yen ((€2.2bn), the first time in history it has fallen below 300bn yen, reports Music Business Worldwide, which has analysed the figures.

It is the second successive decrease for the world's second biggest music market - sales fell by 15% to 312.1bn yen in 2013.
