JJ Cale dies, aged 74

Grammy-winning musician JJ Cale has died of a heart attack aged 74.

The musician, whose body of work includes hits such as Eric Clapton’s After Midnight and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Call Me the Breeze, passed away on Friday night (July 26).

Cale worked with a string of artists during the 1970s, and his album with Eric Clapton The Road to Escondido won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2007.
