Kim Dotcom’s next venture has been confirmed as a music service titled Baboom.
After resigning as Mega director last week, the internet entrepreneur has revealed details of the new service where artists will reportedly have “more freedom, transparency and control”.
Launching at Baboom.com, the site will give the public access to free music, while compensating artists through advertising revenue.
In addition, Baboom is expected to have a paid version where music fans can pay for music ad-free.
First news of the venture surfaced in December 2011, a month before the criminal proceeding against Megaupload became public for alleged crimes to do with charges of fraud, money laundering and copyright infringement.
The official release is expected in a few months time.
