Sanders, who was previously Sony's international chairman and president of global marketing, will be based in Kobalt's New York office and will oversee the company's worldwide front-office operations. These include artist relations, business development , sync licensing and creative services, covering basis including music publishing, artist and label services and neighbouring rights.
The announcement of his appointment comes hot on the heels of Kobalt unveiling it had launched new operations covering neighbouring rights and artist and label services, the latter with the acquisition of UK-based Artists Without A Label (AWAL).

Sanders brings to the role more than 30 years' experience of the music industry, including as a major label executive, manager or road manager. In his most recent Sony role he oversaw the major's 43 operating units outside the US and steered Sony Music Live, which produced more than 5,000 live events a year. Prior to joining Sony Music Live he held executive positions at RCA, V2 Records ad Arista.
