Korda Marshall: 'I have a philosophical problem' with unfair royalty splits between artists and labels

BMG SVP Korda Marshall said that he has a "philosophical problem" with labels taking a larger share of a digital royalty split, while speaking on a panel at AIM's Indie-Con today.

"I have philosophical problem with a situation when an artist has written a song, come up with it, put it all together and everything around that process and then gets 14% or 16% or in a really good deal 18% or even 22%," said Marshall.
