There’s been plenty of interest in Vivendi’s changing structure this week, after the Universal Music parent bought out the co-owner of its TV arm, Canal Plus, for $1.4bn on Monday (October 29) - but Lucian Grainge isn’t letting it bother him.
Vivendi’s buyout, which saw it purchase Lagardere SCA’s 20% stake in the pay-TV unit, leaves the French conglomerate with three very clear media assets under its control: Canal Plus, Universal Music Group and Brazilian internet firm GVT.
