Martin Ingestrom to head up UMP Sweden and Nordic operations

Martin Ingestrom has been promoted to president, UMP Sweden and SVP Nordic Countries, UMP.

Prior to his appointment, Ingestrom held the position of managing director, UMP Sweden and VP, Nordic Countries, UMP.

Ingestrom started his career at Chrysalis Music Publishing and Chrysalis Records in 1980 before leaving to launch MCA Music Publishing Scandinavia in 1993.

In 1999 he became managing director of Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia and following the merger of MCA and Polygram in 2006 he was appointed MD, UMP Sweden and VP, Nordic Countries, UMP.

Zach Horowitz, UMP chairman & CEO, said: “Martin Ingestrom has been a remarkable presence for UMP in Sweden and the Nordic countries for over 20 years. During that time, he has built the company into an industry powerhouse, with signings that have achieved massive success around the globe.

“Most importantly, he’s never been one to rest on his laurels - today, he’s as hungry for hits and discovering the next great writer as when I first started working with him two decades ago. I couldn’t be prouder to recognize his many accomplishments with this well-deserved promotion.”

President of Europe and UK, UMP Paul Connolly, said: “Martin is a music man through and through. He has a rare combination of music smarts and business acumen that contribute immeasurably to the success of so many of his successful songwriters and artists.”
