The shortlist for this year's Barclaycard Mercury Prize were revealed in a ceremony yesterday (September 10) at The Hospital Club. 

Rock duo Royal Blood and Damon Albarn are favourites to win with their respective debut albums, with 4/1 odds offered by William Hill. Albarn was previously nominated as part of Gorillaz, for their 2001 album, but rejected the nomination and the record was withdrawn from the shortlist.
